Police Investigate Attack On Lagos Commissioner’s Residence, Office

Kayode Aderanti, the Lagos state commissioner of police, has confirmed the news that thugs attacked the Lagos state commissioner for transportation, Kayode Opeifa.
Aderanti told reporters in Lagos that the police were investigating the case to bring the culprits to book.

Lagos state commissioner had earlier claimed that his house and the INEC office in the Agege Local Government Area were raided by thugs at about 11:45 p.m. on Friday, March 27.
He made the revelation while speaking with reporters at polling centre, unit 03, Ward 04, situated at Oyewole Road, Agege, near Lagos.
The commissioner clarified that at about 11:45 p.m. on Friday, supposed hoodlums stormed the Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, firing shots and devastating his belongings.
Opeifa said “After they had attacked the council, they also attacked the INEC Agege Office situated close to the LCDA, before coming here to fire shots at my house, scared people out of sight and damaged cars.”
He later conducted journalists round some of the affected places in his house where gun shots and bottles left harmful marks.
The News Agency of Nigeria informs that there were bullet gaps in his living room window glasses and the front wall of his residence.
The commissioner also showed a broken-down car parked outside his entrance.
The attack was launched at about 11:45 p.m. It was shortly after the police area commander left the area,” Opeifa said, continuing that the case had been reported to the police.
Confirming the incident, the INEC electoral officer in-charge of the council, Dapo Aderibigbe, said it was true that the commission’s office was raided.
It was true that we were attacked. It was an attack aimed at creating fears in us.
“But we are not in a position to say who is responsible because that is the responsibility of the security operatives,” Aderibigbe said.
However, Rotimi Amaechi, Rivers state governor has said that he considers that today’s presidential poll held in state were irreparably settled, and the results must be canceled.
At the same time, more and more polling units send in their reports with results. The APC looks really strong in Lagos.
