NEWS: Results In 4 Of 6 Area Councils In Abuja Released By INEC

General Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, seems to be gaining momentum in Abuja, as election results trickle in from across the country.
The results brought in at the Independent National Electoral Commission collation centre at Area 3 Primary School are those of Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada and Kuje.

A detailed result as at 9 p.m. on Sunday showed that the APC won in three of the four councils, while PDP won one, Premium Times reports.
The councils won by the APC are Abaji, Gwagwalada and Kwali, while PDP won Kuje Area Council, polling 17,354 votes against APC’s 15,101.
Details of the results showed that in Abaji, the APC polled 9,840 votes, against the PDP’s 8,799; Kwali, APC 14,645, PDP’s 13,610, and Gwagwalada APC 25,476 and PDP 20,475.
The Returning Officer, Dr. Abdullahi Mohammed Evuti of the Department of Chemical Engineering, University of Abuja told journalists that no problem recorded despite some hitches of logistics and card readers’ failure, even as he revealed that the council has 10 wards and the total number of registered voters is 42, 401, while accredited voters is 20, 017, PM News reports.
Similarly,
APC senatorial candidate, Senator Sidi Ali who hails from Abaji polled 9,840 to defeat the incumbent and PDP candidate, Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda who scored 8,749 and for the House of Representatives, APC scored, 10,047 and PDP, 8,215.
The results for the Bwari and Abuja Municipal Area Council were being awaited at the time of this report.
Recall that reports had it that from the results being circulated from the Aso Villa in Abuja, the All Progressive Congress is certainly taking the lead as Buhari beat President Jonathan at the Presidential Villa polling units, winning by 613 votes to 595.
