According to Bangalore Mirror, the two who have been identified as Kasturi and Basavaraj, had who eloped two months ago when the pressure was getting too much but the woman's brothers traced them to the rented house they were living and killed them before fleeing the scene.
Kasturi was in love with Basavaraj for many years, but her parents had her married off to a much older man in Hubballi a few months ago. Unhappy with the marriage, Kasturi returned to her parents' house within a few weeks and eloped with Basavaraj. Her parents traced her, counselled her and sent her back her husband's before she fled again, some two months ago.
