The celebration of a family turned into deep sorrow and mourning as the father of the bride and one of her brothers lost their lives while heading to the venue of her wedding.
The unfortunate incident happened on Sunday as the vehicle conveying her father and brother had a head on collision with a tanker along Lafiya-Agyaragu road in Nasarawa State.
According to reports, two other relations lost their lives while four other persons sustained several degrees of injuries in the horror accident.
The victims were rushed to Dalhatu Specialist Hospital, Lafia, where four persons were pronounced dead and those who sustained injuries admitted at Accident and Emergency Unit of the Hospital.
The Nasarawa State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, Mrs Susan Alegbe, who confirmed the incident said five persons lost their lives in the accident.
A witness attributed the accident to excessive speeding and overtaking at a bend. So sad!
