Bill Cosby has finally been taken into custody after being charged on December 30 with the se.xual as$ault of a former Temple University student, Andrea Constand in his private home in 2004… But from the looks of things, the iconic comedian turned himself in.
According to reports a warrant was issued for his arrest on Wednesday, but the 78-year-old turned himself in for booking at 2:50om ET that same day.
Fox News reports that just moments after his arraignment, Cosby arrived at the Cheltenham Township Police Department where he was booked — fingerprints and mugshot — as an inmate. He then paid 10% of his $1 million bail in cash, which comes to $100,000. Bill was also forced to hand over his pas$port.
“Upon examination of all of the evidence, today we are able to seek justice on behalf of Mr. Cosby’s victim,” incoming District Attorney Kevin Steele said in a live press conference after the arraignment.
Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman is the one who formally charged Bill with not one, but three counts of aggravated indecent as$ault, reports NBC Philadelphia. The felony charges include that Bill allegedly as$aulted his victim while she was unconscious.
The report claims that during a deposition for the case, Bill confessed to fondling Andrea and taking her “silence” as a green light to continue.
