Japanese engineers have fixed a 15-meter-deep hole, which measured 30 meters by 27 meters in just 48 hours..
According to Japan Times. the sinkhole which developed around 5:15 a.m. last Tuesday at an intersection near Hakata Station in Fukuoka was repaired, with the engineers also repairing gas, water, electricity and sewage pipes – having got the police to evacuate people living in 10 nearby buildings..
The initial cave-in – was said to be caused by a subway line extension but caused no injuries..
Mayor Soichiro Takashima said:
“Work has been smooth. After hearing experts’ opinions and examining the road, we hope to reopen it to traffic,”
